Many fly fishermen consider Patagonia to be the finest fly fishing in the world. Home of the legendary Malleo, Caleufu, Chimehuin, Alumine, Collon Cura and Limay rivers and the magnificent Huechulafquen, Paimun, Lolog and Curruhue Lakes, this area can only be described as “Fly Fishing Paradise”. These rivers, streams, and lakes contain great rainbows, browns, brookies, and land locked salmon. Fish of 5 to 10 pounds are not uncommon and fish over ten pounds are often hooked. All the lakes and rivers are crystal clear and afford thousands of miles for wading and fishing.
Fly fishermen sometimes dream about catching big trout on idyllic rivers in total solitude, surrounded by the grandeur of nature, reserved for them alone. This is still possible here in Patagonia in the vast fishing area where one can fish from sun up to sun down and not see another fisherman.
